Landscape, Seascape and Pet Portrait paintings by Roger Holmes in Watercolour, Pastels and Mixed MediaI have painted most of my life whenever I could find the time which is not always easy thanks to the pressures of earning a living. Now that I am in my 50’s the urge to paint is stronger then ever and I would like to turn painting into my full time occupation instead of designing websites which I have been doing since 1993. Previously I was a signwriter. I am a self taught artist and have evolved my own techniques and style by experimenting with different media, including: Oil’s, Acrylics, Pastels, Pencils and more recently, Watercolour which has become my favorite medium which also allows me to work fast and loose. In the past, I have been quite tight in my paintings with attention to details, today, I strive to paint in a much looser and more suggestive manner.
